HELLO EVERYONE. CCN0 here and I'm once again redesigning my entire website. You may notice that the Things page looks a little different. That's because I've begun testing my next big update to the CCN0.net website's look. I did enjoy ccn02.css for a while, but over time, its become very apparent that the way I had to change the website and update pages are very dated.
What is 3CL?
3CL.css (3 column layout) was an idea I've been brainstorming for a while now. 3CL allows both browsers on computers and phones to see basically the same content with the same experience. I also wanted a more modular way of implementing certain pages or features, such as settings, without having to bake it into the page itself.
The CCN0 Portal was the first of the CCN0 family to adopt the 3 column layout, mainly to test and see if 3 columns was the way to go, and I decided that I would try and use it for every Thing or Project since, the first Thing being SearchPlusPREMIUM.
Why
The CCN0 homepage is hideous. It's one very skinny column with a list of links in it, seperated by headers, that you had to scroll down to see more of the page. I thought the user experience of it was very bad, as my mouse always instinctively tried to reach for things that were actually in the center. I also thought the wiki and Things pages had similar issues.
This new look should be better for both computers and phones without comprimising navigation or ease of use. I also wanted better accessibility, and be able to more easily extend pages features and capabilities, without having to work around the existing site infrastructure, if you could call it that.
What's Next
Soon, all pages will be updated from ccn02.css to 3cl.css, and every device will have a better experience navigating my website and its horrible contents.
P.S. my thing will ling very soon
