SearchPlusPREMIUM is splitting from CCN0 Things

SearchPlusPREMIUM has been a very useful CCN0 Thing, especially in comparison to other Things I've made. But having to update it while I'm working on other projects is very annoying, and the URL is unbelievably long. And so, I have decided to move it out of Things and into its own repository, which in turn means it is now located at https://ccn0.net/searchpluspremium/.

What to do

Update your browser to use https://ccn0.net/searchpluspremium/search?q=%s, or remove /things/.

You also have to update your search engine list to use the new URL if you use the base engine or the "here" quick add engine.

Your settings are preserved because we haven't left the domain of ccn0.net (yet).

Why?

The reason I've moved SearchPlusPREMIUM to it's own repository is to being working on a new major update for SPP without having to hide it using some gitignore bullshit, and also shorten its URL, from a staggering 42 characters to a much more modest 35.

To be entirely honest, I don't know if this change affects anyone's workflows.

3CL and Redesigning CCN0.net a second time

HELLO EVERYONE. CCN0 here and I'm once again redesigning my entire website. You may notice that the Things page looks a little different. That's because I've begun testing my next big update to the CCN0.net website's look. I did enjoy ccn02.css for a while, but over time, its become very apparent that the way I had to change the website and update pages are very dated.

What is 3CL?

3CL.css (3 column layout) was an idea I've been brainstorming for a while now. 3CL allows both browsers on computers and phones to see basically the same content with the same experience. I also wanted a more modular way of implementing certain pages or features, such as settings, without having to bake it into the page itself.

The CCN0 Portal was the first of the CCN0 family to adopt the 3 column layout, mainly to test and see if 3 columns was the way to go, and I decided that I would try and use it for every Thing or Project since, the first Thing being SearchPlusPREMIUM.

Why

The CCN0 homepage is hideous. It's one very skinny column with a list of links in it, seperated by headers, that you had to scroll down to see more of the page. I thought the user experience of it was very bad, as my mouse always instinctively tried to reach for things that were actually in the center. I also thought the wiki and Things pages had similar issues.

This new look should be better for both computers and phones without comprimising navigation or ease of use. I also wanted better accessibility, and be able to more easily extend pages features and capabilities, without having to work around the existing site infrastructure, if you could call it that.

What's Next

Soon, all pages will be updated from ccn02.css to 3cl.css, and every device will have a better experience navigating my website and its horrible contents.

P.S. my thing will ling very soon

BIRTHDAY 2025

Another year of CCN0? Crazy, I know. I thought I would've given up on the internet, but many major things have happened! You might be surprised by what I'm working on right now, and even more surprised how little I did with my projects I announced last year. Anyways, lets talk about the 5th year in CCN0!

Domain Name??

That's right! the website has gone through a few changes, mainly its now located at ccn0.net and not a GitHub Pages domain! the blog was also moved to blog.ccn0.net. I've also done some work on making my website and project more accessible and friendlier to use and view. My SEO has gotten a lot better over this last year, and many styles and changes are being made to make sure its fun to use this site and not just a pain in the ass.

Things??

Brand new things! CCN0TEPAD has a new sibling, Programmable Notepad, and a select menu that will be available later this week. Also, a search engine, and much more news!

SearchPlusPREMIUM????

That's right, ccn0 made a search engine! using the power of symbols, you can use any search engine, by just using one! check her out here, and follow the instructions for setting it as default. If you really want search suggestions, you can use the URL https://duckduckgo.com/ac/?q=%s&type=list for the API, where %s is the query.

Programmable Notepad

Imagine a notepad you can write programs with, run commands, grab files from the web, and even save/load files! Programmable Notepad is a new version of Notepad that I've been working on, ever since I dropped Notepad Win (which will keep being maintained) and its upgrades and features. It might come out later this year, but I'm trying not to make promises! Also adding it to the things page as well very soon.

GlobalClocks?

Yes, GlobalClocks is being deprecated soon. I'm working on a brand new clock thing, so stay tuned for that

Soundlets Plus!!

Soundlets Plus has had a bunch of updates recently, namely you don't need long long URLs and only need to host it somewhere its allowed to reach! just use the new URL parameters ?url= to grab something from the web, and ?json= if your stuck in the past.

April Fools??

Here's a quote from past me:

i am working on an april fools joke as of writing this, but i may have overestimated my capabilities, so this might be next years! sorry ai lovers...

Unfortunately, my plans and development of this year's April Fools joke was way too ambitious, and time-consuming to work on. It may end up coming out for next year, but who knows for sure.

Bluesky??

I have jump shipped from Mastodon, rest in peace. we are now on bluesky, @ccn0.net! It was also one of the reasons I got ccn0.net in the first place. I think this platform will let me get more attention hopefully, I'm still not sure if anyone is reading these.

What's next?

I am working on many new projects (and the ones from last year), things, and I'm planning on being a little more active on social media as well.

CCN0 and my other related projects will continue to grow in scope until I finally decide to give up the internet finally, but until then, I'm still gonna be maintaining my website, and all of the things I've made. Don't expect me to continuisly be active on the internet, I have taken several breaks (knowingly and unknowingly), but I wanna try to be more active anyways. Thanks for reading, and also being dumb enough to read all of this, again.

P.S. the CCN0 website will receive a new look very soon...

April Fools 2025

Happy April Fools Day. There's a very shitty little celebration going on on the homepage of my website. Check it out.

The original idea is taking too long in the oven so maybe next year I'll have something funny.

SearchPlusPREMIUM

Check it out here.

Yes, I've just released a brand new thing. SearchPlusPREMIUM is a search engine that allows you to use symbols to specify where you want to go, making it faster and more specific.

Usage

Add a new search engine by clicking the Add New button. It will create a new listing with dummy data in the URL and Symbol boxes.

If you don't edit anything, the listing will not save, so you have to actually enter a search engine and/or symbol.

Symbols are the prefix to whatever query you have to specify what engine you want to use, e.g. searching for "@ddg hello world" on SPP by default searches for hello world on DuckDuckGo. Symbols can start and end with anything, but can't contain a space.

Conclusion

This is the first thing of 2025! Which is cool. I do like being productive, but as I start more and more little side projects and things, I can't keep my focus on one thing.

So expect updates to come in little bursts like they always have, and also be ready for this year's April 19th!

P.S. april fools is being delayed to next year. no this isnt a prank.

Spookify.user.js

Halloween is here! Today, I am releasing a userscript version of my Spookify scripts which are gonna be discontinued on my website November 1st. Just get it from my userscripts on GitHub and install it Tampermonkey or whatever else monkey and enjoy.

You can also add your own screamers by adding a link to an image, and a link to an audio file in the spookyList array. Have fun!

P.S. be sure to look out for new games... not nexploration 2, but something cooler... also im discontinuing the mastodon soon and moving to bluesky ok bye

Progress on Projects

This is just a quick update on the progress on projects that were (or were not) mentioned in the CCN0's 4th birthday announcements. Keep in mind I have no obligation to finish any of these projects and that development speed is unpredictable.

Terter

Terter was successfully updated and finished and should be finished for now. it is currently on v0.1.5, and has support for wildcards, deleting/editing URLs, and more.

GlobalClocks

GlobalClocks is currently being refactored into a different project, with more features. GlobalClocks' countdowns, countups, and embeds should and will work in the time being, and any existing clocks will continue to function even after the GlobalClocks successor is released or finished.

Screensaver

Screensaver is not being worked on as of now, but will be released sometime in 2025.

CCN0TEBOOK

CCN0TEBOOK is being optimized, as every feature is currently working with the renderer but the HTML plugin or modern editor is still being conceived. Expect this early 2025.

CCN0.GitHub.io

The website was updated to the new design and any pages that contain the old CSS will be fixed as they become issues.

Games

Nexploration 2 is being conceived and will probably take a while to get into testing. Other games are being conceived but nothing can be said about them until they are done.

CCanvasEngine

Any CCanvasEngine development has stopped and a new engine with better features and more options will be released eventually.

Multitaxes

Multitaxes has stepped down from the lofty goals I had for it a while back, it is currently being optimized and a design language is being developed. Don't expect it to release anytime soon, but it is being developed.

Conclusion

I can announce any number of projects, just don't have any anticipation for them releasing at a normal pace. I've worked on a lot of side projects which have come out, but I will be taking a break throughout October. I also want to branch out from just the CCN0 name.

What's next for Nexploration?

Currently on the CCN0 Nexploration page.

"Nexploration isn't dead. I have updated this page for the purpose of making it easier to view, and in preparation for the next game in the series. Keep an eye on my blog and this page for news and updates for Nexploration and it's soon to come sequel. There is no defined date."

Nexploration will be receiving a sequel in the coming years. It won't be this year, or the next. The next Nexploration is coming. And if it never comes out, then disregard this. I'm absolutely sure it will come out. And this time, it won't look like complete shit.

CCN0TEPAD Win might change name

I'm thinking about changing the name of Notepad Win to something else. It's probably gonna be hard to get used to but it hasn't been following it's goal of being the Windows-like Notepad like I wanted. It's good, but I think it is time to change its name. Also if you want to check out progress of the Windows-like Notepad, go here. If you want to know the differences between the Notepads, check out the selection page.

Stylization and Terminology of CCN0TEPAD

So, I realize that I'm confusing myself with the name of CCN0TEPAD. It's stylized as Notepad but when formatting like italics aren't available, it is CCN0TEPAD, which I realize causes some confusion between CCN0TEBOOK and Notepad. I also pronounce it as see•see•note•pad, combining CCN0 and Notepad. That may seem obvious but not for some people. Anyways, this was for clarification and is kind of a waste of a post. This won't be important very soon.

The Making of the CCN0 Portal

Hey, it's CCN0, notorious bullshit maker. I am a big fan of making useless gizmos. I found some cool things and exploits, which then led to the making of the CCN0 Portal, which has gone through many updates and changes until I finally made the version you see now.

Tinkering

If you're wondering, I fucked around a lot with the school computers. I was a notorious soundboard user, 'the hacker dude', and many other nicknames from my antics. All of my bullshitting led to my school laptop being taken away and my school account being locked. I have many words about this decision but it led to me one day tinkering with the log in kiosk. Which then led to me breaking out of the log in page onto Microsoft's homepage. This was a huge breakthrough as this worked just like a private tab, and you could just browse like you were logged in!

One problem:

You couldn't just enter a URL. You had to go through a search engine to get to many things, which was either annoying or impossible. Going to my site was annoying, and getting to cool sites like game sites, videos, media, and tools like Skool and Polaris were basically impossible. But then I had an idea.

You remember Yahoo?

I opened an old website template I had lying around. I made a shitty little form to go to any URL, and added some links to many websites. And it worked. It was fine to use, but later when using it, I realized how bad it looked on the tiny log in kiosks, and it looked off on big kiosks. But I was busy working on other projects, like Notepad Win and GlobalClocks, so I left it to rot, and the CCN0 Portal entered hiatus.

Life without the Web

Using school computers without logging in was very fun. I would play games fine (they were slower, which I suspect was because they didn't allocate shit for the log in screen), and Instagram, YouTube TikTok all worked on it. There were basically no issues. I even added a rAdBOX to it, but it looked like shit. But then I got tired of it. It was overly bright, had a shitty UI, and basically nothing from the modern age. So I decided I was going to catalog many websites, tools, social medias, and more shit and keep them in mind for when I update the site.

Starting from Scratch (kinda)

I was working on a different project at the time, which let you make bento-box UI websites easy. Unfortunately, I thought about it a little more, and realized it would allow many malware things and other bullshit to exist, under MY website. So I canned it. I had this code and CSS with no use. Until I realized something. This would be perfect for a web directory, such as the CCN0 Portal. And I got to work. In one day, I had the CCN0 Portal looking better than ever. It looks good on small displays, large displays, it had a responsive layout, and looked very modern. It was basically perfect. I updated the 'How to get back' section and eventually updated my disclaimers.

Currently, the CCN0 Portal is working fine without JavaScript, or even CSS. People have been using it so much, that if you search 'ccn0 portal' on Bing, you can get to my site without typing a URL. It's one of my best works, and I hope to be updating it for years to come with more bullshit and other shit. Thank you for reading about my bullshit, maybe you'll find a use for it as well.

BIRTHDAY 2024

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Today marks the day that CCN0 as a project turns 4 years old. To celebrate, I have many projects to announce and release. Many of these projects are being worked on in the background for the past few months or even years, and its finally the occasion to announce these projects.

Terter v0.1.3

Terter allows you to change the HTML that loads when you go to a URL. This update brings wildcards in URLs e.g. (*://example.com/*). It also allows you to see all stored URLs so you can see and delete stored URLs easier. This update should be done by the time your reading this. If not, it's the Firefox version's fault, and it should be done later this week.

GlobalClocks V7

GlobalClocks for the longest time has only had days, hours, minutes and seconds. Soon, you will be able to see months, years, and the counters that don't matter will now be truncated when they aren't being used. This should be out right now, and if it's not, then it will be out sometime in a few weeks.

Screensaver

CCN0 Screensaver allows to edit or run a screensaver entirely within your browser. You can draw, add images, and have these run periodically while you aren't using your computer. I also have plans to add a bookmarklet feature to use your screensaver incase you go inactive on a webpage. This project should get done by about July or August.

CCN0TEBOOK v2

CCN0TEBOOK v2 builds onto the original app, with going back pages, color, brush width, onion skinning, importing, and exporting. You will get a .txt for the notebooks made to be embedded anywhere you want to use them.

CNB HTML Plugin

A script to use <cnb> tags to embed CCN0TEBOOKs on any webpage. Very simple to use. You would use <cnb src="book.txt"></cnb> to embed a notebook inside of an HTML file. You will append in the <head> a script to use it.

This project and the plugin should be done by the time you are reading this. If not, it should be done later this year.

Site Changes (finally)

Yup. I'm finally getting around to doing it, finishing the job of adding the new theme to every page that still has embedded styles, ccn0.css, or remote fonts. I'm not gonna lie, this could take all year, but I'm trying my best. I also want to find a way to make this site work with JSON or RSS somehow, but I don't know.

Games

I have no games to announce so far, but I am still working on many games, which might include Nexploration 2, but I am still working out that idea. The one game that has been on the coming soon section is still being worked on, but is not in a state where I could announce or release any information on it. Also this ties in to the next project.

CCanvasEngine

A simple game engine that allows you to quickly make games for the web on desktop and mobile. It has digital keys and touchpad for mobile so they get the same experience as they would on computer. The engine also has helpful objects and functions such as mousepointer, fenceObject, playAudio, and more. This project should be done sometime in either late 2024 or 2025. And yes, it's called CCanvasEngine because CanvasEngine was already taken.

Multitaxes

A desktop environment on the web. You can open multiple tasks and windows like games, media, webpages, and more. You can customize the entire desktop, icons, colors, and windows using a custom theme. This project should hopefully be done in late 2025.

Concluding

I have worked on so many things, tools, apps, games, and projects throughout my existence as CCN0. I hope to continue to work on these projects until they are perfect and never need to be changed again. Thank you for reading, and thank you for caring enough to read paragraphs for a birthday.

p.s many things and projects are subject to change, including my plans for them. and likebutton is coming soon

Nexploration v1.3.2 (Final Update)

Nexploration's development has finally ended. I had fun working on this game, and it came out basically exactly how I imagined it in my head. After spending a few days to fix up all the last major bugs and adding cheats, I finally feel like it's complete. There's nothing more I could add. I wanted to do a graphics update, but I felt it was too much pressure and effort for not much reward.

p.s. debug mode is accessed through clicking on the i in Nexploration a lot. use / to type stuff, or just use mobile controls to use turbowarp/scratch inputs.

Mastodon

The Things Blog has finally been replaced. I have decided that Mastodon is very similar to the vision that I wanted for the Things Blog, and so I now have a Mastodon account.

You can follow it here, and can expect the original Things Blog link to instead link to this blog on January 31st, 2024.

p.s. I accidentally left a GlobalClocks embed test on the side so oops.

CCN0 Things Blog is shutting down

After a lot of decision making, I have decided that the CCN0 Things blog should shut down.

CCN0 Things had their own blog in the method of Twitter, with its own FAQ, styles, and pages. I have noticed nobody visits or reads the blog and it's confusing on having 2 blogs. And so I have decided that on January 31st, 2024, the CCN0 Things blog will shut down.

It has existed for most of CCN0's life and it's unfortunate to see it go. Eventually, the original URL for the CCN0 Things blog will be replaced with a redirect to the Blogspot blog (this one).

Also on an unrelated note, GlobalClocks now have embeds, which will definitely not be put on that blog with a countdown.

RIP CCN0 Things blog, 10-5-2022 — 1-31-2024

My Birthday

It is officially my birthday. Because of that, for the next week, I will be trying to take a break from coding for a little bit, as I have been feeling burnt out on every minor project with an apparently infinite amount of bugs and errors. Maybe I will work on my other things for once, who knows? I will be seeing you next week (if my code doesn't spontaneously combust

arry's stuff is dead. RE: It's back.

The arry's stuff blog has been killed.

I have made the (not very) difficult decision to shut down arry's stuff. It was basically updates on my projects on a personal level. To be entirely honest, I don't really want to update it. It's ugly, old, and stupid. Most of my online presence is CCN0 anyways. So, the end. I might bring it back when I make it look good, or I fix it.

RE: It's back.

I have revamped arry's stuff into just the arryorsomething blog. No clue what to do with it for now, no essays have been written.

There is now a rAdBOX on the blog.

Yes, you might see a rAd for the blog while your on the blog. No I do not care much.

It was placed there to bring attention to other projects from my site.

rAdBOX may be updated in the future, so stay tuned for that.

I am also debating even showing off how to make your own rAdBOX because I hate ads.

SearchPlusPREMIUM is splitting from CCN0 Things

SearchPlusPREMIUM has been a very useful CCN0 Thing, especially in comparison to other Things I've made. But having to update it while I...
